Statement of Faith
Michael McCorkle holds an evangelical Christian faith. Michael also holds the view of focusing on the core question, "Is Jesus who the Bible says He is." He believes this is the ultimate question for all of humanity. Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth and the life, no one comes to the Father except through me." Michael believes that Jesus claims challenge a response. One author said it something like this, Jesus was either a lunatic, liar, or Lord. He wasn't a nice guy, good teacher, or prophet. We can remake Jesus' statements into something we find more palatable, but that doesn't answer the direct challenge of his plain words.
In a broader scope Michael holds to the Apostle's Creed as essential Christian faith.

I believe in God, the Father almighty,
creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit
and born of the virgin Mary.
He suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried;
he descended to hell.
The third day he rose again from the dead.
He ascended to heaven
and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty.
From there he will come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy catholic* church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting. Amen.

Why Coexistence
Why does an evangelical Christian pursue coexistence? It's like the picture on the left, where coexistence seems like an impossible and rough terrain to walk through. We leave you with the scripture that drives our mission. We strive to make our application evident in our efforts.

"Blessed are the peacemakers for the shall be called sons of God". Matt 5:9
“My kingdom is not of this world. If My kingdom were of this world, My servants would be fighting so that I would not be handed over….but as it is my kingdom is not of this world.” John 18:36
“ By this all people will know that you are my disciples: if you have love for one another.” John 13:35
“For God did not send the Son into the World to judge the world, but so that the world might be saved through Him. John 3:17
“If anyone hears my teachings and does not keep them, I do not judge him: for I did not come to judge the world but save the world.” John 12:47
“13 For if we have lost our minds, it is for God; if we are of sound mind, it is for you. 14 For the love of Christ controls us, having concluded this, that one died for all, therefore all died; 15 and He died for all, so that those who live would no longer live for themselves, but for Him who died and rose on their behalf. 16 Therefore from now on we recognize no one by the flesh; even though we have known Christ by the flesh, yet now we know Him in this way no longer. 17 Therefore if anyone is in Christ, this person is a new creation; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come. 18 Now all these things are from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation, 19 namely, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not counting their wrongdoings against them, and He has committed to us the word of reconciliation.
20 Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were making an appeal through us; we beg you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. 21 He made Him who knew no sin to be [j]sin in our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. 2 Corinthians 5
Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore, take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist on the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm. 14 Stand firm therefore, having belted your waist with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 and having strapped on your feet the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 in addition to all, taking up the shield of faith with which you will be able to extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 And take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. 18 With every prayer and request, pray at all times in the Spirit. (Eph. 6:12-18)
